Sonus Token
A DEX economy needs a token that can distribute and manage generated value
Sonus' model encourages active participation by holders. Tokenholders receiving distributions are likely to act in ways that maximize the protocol’s value generation in the long term. SONUS Value Distribution: On Sonus, 100% of the value generated from fees and incentives is distributed to veSONUS voters, permissionlessly and immutably, on a weekly basis.
Value Management: To be eligible for these distributions, veSONUS holders must perform their essential role for the protocol, which is to direct SONUS emissions to the liquidity pools on the DEX via gauge voting.
SONUS
SONUS serves as the native token of Sonus Exchange, functioning as a standard ERC-20 token with no special attributes. Its core purpose is to facilitate value distribution within the Sonus ecosystem.
Each week, a set amount of SONUS is released into liquidity pools to attract liquidity providers (LPs) and compensate them for the risks they bear. This mechanism helps the protocol establish robust liquidity, which in turn drives trading fees for the platform.
LPs have several options upon receiving SONUS : they can hold it, reinvest it into SONUS liquidity pools, exchange it for other tokens, or utilize a unique feature — locking it as vote-escrowed SONUS (veSONUS) for additional rewards.
